I buy other vegetables when needed for a certain recipe like zucchini, green beans, Swiss chard, beets, or Brussels sprouts (don’t make a face! 🤢) You don’t have to love Brussels sprouts but put on your big boy apron and cook them! 🙂 They’re one of the top cancer-fighting vegetables you can eat. Next post, I’ll talk about what’s NOT in my fridge and why…

Thanks Jenny!
Hi Jenny- do you think fruit/ veg need to be organic? What about dairy ? Or do we do the best we can do ? I cannot always afford organic but l think eating plenty of veggies and fruit is important – more important than being perfect with organic. This goes for meat too – but l try my best to- thoughts? Thanks
I’m not too strict on organic products, particularly vegetables. I will buy them if they look good but too often, they don’t, so then I buy non-organic. As for dairy and oats where there is no spoilage issue, I do buy organic but if they are out of it, I am okay with non-organic. As for meat, I tried grass-fed beef once and thought it tasted awful so I’m back to regular beef, which I believe is primarily not organic. So bottom line – I know organic is better for the environment but it’s not always better tasting and it’s not a big deal to me either way. (most organic avocados I’ve tried were mostly black inside!) 🥑
Do you eat any yogurt Jenny? Thanks- G
I don’t eat any of the fruit-flavored yogurts we see at most grocery stores. Occasionally, when I can find a rich Bulgarian yogurt (they usually come in a glass jar), I do eat that and then I can flavor it if I have some fresh blueberries or raspberries and a little sugar.
Jenny I want to live in your refrigerator!! Everything in there sounds so good and I’m going shopping tomorrow for carrots and cabbage. I have to work on the radishes though. 🙂
No yogurt – kefir or kimchi – to get those good probiotics?
