My Apple Pie Bars

Apple Pie Bars Oil CrustWith ninety-one organic apples on my tree, I had to come up with a very special recipe and here it is. It’s a lot less work than making traditional apple pie and the best part is… it’s healthier… made without shortening or butter, only heart-healthy canola oil. I love that!

It tastes just as good as a pie, in fact, Denis keeps calling it pie but I say a piece of pie is pointed and this is square – it is NOT pie! Whatever you call it, this is one of my best recipes.

And try to eat just one piece of p….. uh…. I mean one bar. 🙂

I made apple pie bars again. I had to. My apples were calling me from the tree: “We’re ready! Over here! Eat us! Bake us into one of those pie bars! We need a purpose! We like being snuggled in that delicious crust. Please Jenny, take us before the squirrels come!!”

    Funny Jenny!…lol…
For you to have 91 apples on one little tree maybe the squirrels have scrammed and left town. Let’s hope so 😉

Pretty tasty, and easy to follow directions. Wish I had an apple tree l, but sadly all I have are fresh oranges.. Still store bought is just fine.

Thanks for sharing, I love tring out recipes for sweet foods.

I was looking at some older recipes and saw one for a bread pudding that caught my eye, i was thinking I might try and merge it with parts of my grandmothers bananna bread pudding recipe and see how it turns out.

Yummy! I love pies and I will take your word on this. You know good cooking and the things you come up with are sooo deliciously put together 🙂
I’m going now to see what I need for this recipe. I probably got everything except for maybe some fresh apples…
Thank you for sharing this recipe Jenny. I do enjoy trying out foods you enjoy making. I can’t get over your caramel corn. It is addictive and so easy to make. I might have to make that too. I’m craving it, seriously…lol…

Wow does that look good!! I eat two organic apples a day everyday. I don’t have my own tree but I buy Natures Promise from Giant. They are sooo good. I’m sure they will be perfect to try this recipe.

    Thanks for sharing Jenny! 🙂
