Easy One Bowl Apple Cake

Easy One Bowl Apple CakeEverybody stay calm! There is no cinnamon in my crispy top apple cake. You can add some if you like but I tried using cinnamon and I prefer it with just a little vanilla. This way the apples are the star. This is another easy one-bowl recipe for an easy light dessert that I absolutely love. Here’s why:

~ No mixer
~ No butter
~ Uses less sugar
~ Has lots of fruit
~ Minimal cleanup

This fresh apple cake is healthy enough to include with breakfast. (notice I said “with” and not “for!”) 🙂 Be sure to keep the apple pieces small, no bigger than 1/2-inch so they cook through. I use Granny Smith apples. 🍏 You can also make this cake using half whole wheat pastry flour + half all purpose flour and it turned out well. I’m loving my one-bowl recipes and am always looking for an easier way to make my favorite foods. And it doesn’t get much easier than this. With or without cinnamon, this is still the easiest apple cake you will ever make. Click here for the recipe. – Jenny Jones

Oct. 16, 2022. I have watched almost all your YouTubes and saved most of your recipes. Today I baked the apple cake because my older son and two grandchildren, ages 10 and four, are due this evening. “I knew you were coming so I baked a cake.“ Thank you and if you decide to do more YouTubes,
like so many of your other followers I will be there watching.

    Jenny,
How do I find the recipe for this cake?

  3. Mike D.

I doubled this recipe and used a bundt pan for a larger cake. It came out terrific. Love Jenneys’ recipes as I am diabetic and need to watch my carbs and sugar intake. I have made her apple pie three times and my wife and I enjoyed that as well.

Best ever apple cake and so easy. I added another cup of apples and I used Vanilla sugar for the topping. My husband said it reminded him of the cakes his Omi made but definitely healthier. Less sugar and butter but still turned out Amazing!
Good for you for retiring and that’s why I’ve got time too to make all your Great recipes.

Quick question? I don’t have whole wheat pastry flour and hard to find where I am. Can I use regular pastry flour or white flour instead? Any substitute you can recommend. Thanks Jenny!

    • Jenny Can Cook

I suggest sticking with only all purpose flour.

What are the nutritional values? Calories, sugar, unsaturated fat and protein? I want to calculate WW points.

    • Beth

You can use the recipe calculator on the WW web site. Just type in the ingredients and click “calculate”.

Well, butter my butt and call me Biscuit!
I happened upon your one bowl lemon brownies video on YouTube.
Your opening about the good hair day made me think of my mother and
at the end your caution to only have one… I almost peed my pants!

It was after sending your link to my sister and finding your site that I realized the reason for my feeling familiar with you. I’m sure I have seen your TV show. I also see some resemblance to Eileen Davidson and Betty Ford.

Because of her being a well known and loved beautician, Mother used to say when she was taking food for covered dish gatherings, ” Don’t let anyone see me bring this dish in or they may think it will have hair in it”.

In case you are curious, photos can be seen on my Facebook: Linda Gail Norris King White.

Nice to meet you here today, Jenny Jones. I hope all your days are good hair days!!!

What is flour ratio if using only white flour not whole wheat? Any other changes. Looks delish.

  14. Donna

Good easy apple cake. I substituted applesauce for the oil and coconut sugar for the white sugar. The cake is not real sweet which is how I like it and I will make this again.

This looks so easy and sounds wonderful.
I always read your recipes and can’t wait to make them.
You cook the way I have to eat — very little sugar.

Am off to the store to buy some apples.
    Do you peel them?
    Thanks for sending these –
and for your helpful hints & suggestions.

    Where do you live?

Substitute for Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
Per 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour substitute 1/2 cup cake flour and 1/2 cup whole wheat flour OR substitute 1 cup whole wheat flour (product will be more dense)

We’d all love that ?. But though it would be great for us, unfortunately it wouldn’t be good for Jenny. She left a note on YouTube saying she really wanted to retire and hoped we’d all understand 🙂
