Simple Garlic Bread

Garlic Bread

You won’t get fresh garlic bread like this in any restaurant. My simple recipe takes just minutes to make… and just minutes to disappear. I like to use thick slices of sourdough but it’s great on Italian ciabatta bread too. Serve it right away and be ready to make more because this stuff is good! - Jenny Jones

Makes: 2 slices

I just usually skip the Parmesan. It seems more simple and delicious without it. Thank you Jenny for your gifts. God Bless You.

Do you put grated Parmesan cheese from jar or fresh Parmesan cheese?

    • Jenny Can Cook

I buy freshly grated Parmesan from the deli section of my grocery store. It comes in a plastic tub.

My husband, who is the pickiest man on earth, says your garlic bread recipe is best ever. I think so too! By the way, do you have any recommendation on a garlic press we can get that squeezes out puree like yours? Thanks

I made your garlic bread tonight and we loved it. So tasty and easy to do. Thank you

In a pinch toast whatever bread you have nice & crispy & butter with Jenny’s garlic butter. My cousin uses the square ciabatta bread buns sliced & toasted. That’s excellent, but works with any bread. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful recipes.

How to make sour dough bread

  9. Shannyn

Hi! I love the recipe but I don’t have access to either of the breads listed. I live in a small town so we don’t have many options. So just wondering what kind of bread you may recommend if can’t get sourdough or Italian.

    • Sue

In my opinion, you could use this recipe with any type of bread that is available.

Your garlic bread photo is being used repeatedly by Toninis Italian Market online as their own photo for their food. Thought I would let you know since they also are using my photo from my blog without my permission. They have two pages on Facebook and you can see your garlic bread photo repeated on “Toninis Italian market Drop Page”.

    • Jenny

Thank you for letting me know. I have sent them a note.

    • Jenny

They have refused to remove my photo and it appears they also blocked me from their facebook page. Did you have any luck getting yours removed?

      • Tonini

We are very sorry….we found the recipe with the picture & made it at our store a few times. We removed the picture & will no longer make the recipe. Sorry for any trouble.

        • Jenny

I really appreciate your note. You are welcome to use any of my recipes, but you should have used your own photo. The only issue was using my photo as your own. People all over the world are using my recipes for free and it makes me happy.

So use any of my recipes that you like and you can use my photos too but only if you add a standard credit that reads “photo courtesy of Jenny Can Cook” on the photo, usually along the bottom. (you probably should ask for permission for any other other photos you want to use that are not yours)

Thank you again for your note and let me know if you have any questions. I’m glad you like my garlic bread and I hope your customers like it too.

I was confused at first then realized in the U.K we call it grilling although we can alter the temperature , my grill has 5 settings. I am certainly going to try this,

  12. Coco

What is the ovum temperature ?

    • Jenny

The broiler generally does not have a temperature setting. The broiler is when the heat comes only from the top of oven and not from the bottom. Most ovens have just one broil setting and some may have a high and low broil setting. If you have a choice, use the high setting.

Yum …. this was delicious. I’ve tried many garlic bread recipes. This one was by far, the easiest and best-tasting. I used ciabatta bread. My family loved it.

Made the Garlic Bread and Ziti last night for family and Grandson.

Have firmly established myself as an OLD genius.

  15. Michele

I made this tonight using sourdough and it was soooo good! I will never buy frozen garlic bread again, and the family agrees! Can’t wait to make it again along with your ziti recipe.

I LOVED your show! I was a faithful watcher and I had no idea you had a blog. Awesome! This is what’s for dinner tonight with the lasagna that’s in the oven. Thanks for sharing, Miss Jenny!

When you’re making a demonstration video you should always always say what temperature you are using in the oven. In your video you say middle rack but in your recipe it says broil. I am confused. Did you have a television program many years ago?

    • Jenny

In the video I did say, “Preheat the oven to a broil setting, keep the rack in the middle,” and I repeated it when I put the bread in the oven. In the printable recipe, it also says,”Leave oven rack in middle. Preheat broiler.” The confusion may be because there is no temperature in the broil setting. It’s just using the burners on the upper ceiling of the oven. The temperature can only be controlled by moving the rack closer and farther from the heat, hence, leave the oven rack in the middle (not too close to the burners). I hope that clears it up and yes, I had a daytime talk show in the 90s.

      • Ria

Is there a way to find your show? I thought you looked familiar! I think my mom or aunt watched you when I first got married lol.
I would love to see it!

  20. Cricket

Wonderful recipe. You look So familiar. How would I know you?

    • Tracy

She looks like (and may be) the talk show host from years ago.

  21. Claudia McClure

Yep, pretty much how I make mine. Divine!
