Crispy and Soft Croutons
I use my own no knead bread but you can use fresh Italian bakery style or ciabatta bread. I always cut the whole loaf into cubes and freeze. It works with frozen bread cubes too. - Jenny Jones
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of cubed fresh crusty bread
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- freshly ground pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350° F. (I use a toaster oven)
- Place bread cubes into a bowl or plastic bag (a produce bag is good).
- Add oil, salt & pepper. Toss/smoosh to coat.
- Spread on an ungreased or parchmnent paper-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or longer until the edges are toasted.
- Remove croutons to a plate to cool before serving.
