Homemade Almond Butter

I do not add salt because there is so much flavor from the roasting process. Make sure your almond butter is completed cooled before sealing the jar. - Jenny Jones

Cook Time: 11 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Makes: One standard 16-ounce jar

Homemade Almond Butter

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of raw almonds

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยบ F. (I do this is my toaster oven)
  2. Spread almonds onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  3. Bake for about 19 minutes, but start checking them at 15 minutes. Don't be afraid to toast them until they are well browned.
  4. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely. (this can be done a day in advance.)
  5. Place cooled almonds into a food processor and process for about 11 minutes. To prevent the processor over-heating, pause a couple of times to let it cool down.
  6. When the mixture is smooth and creamy, stir it up from the bottom and process another 15 seconds to mix it well.
  7. Let it cool completely and transfer into a clean glass jar. Cover and keep refrigerated.
