One Pan Spaghetti With Swiss Chard

One Pan Spaghetti With Chard

One Pan Spaghetti With Chard

You'll need about 5 cups of sliced chard. Stirring the spaghetti well is key to keep it from sticking. Adjust cooking time if you use a different pasta. If the final dish seems too dry just stir in more olive oil… and pass the Parmesan for serving. - Jenny Jones

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 9 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Makes: 2 servings

One Pan Spaghetti With Chard

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 bunch Swiss chard
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 oz. thin spaghetti, broken in half
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Parmesan cheese

  1. Slice the chard into 1-inch strips, removing thick stems and wash well, leaving it wet.
  2. Heat oil & garlic in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  3. When it starts to sizzle, add the sliced greens. Cook and stir for one minute to soften.
  4. Stir in water, spaghetti, and salt. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and cook for 9 minutes, stirring a few times to keep spaghetti from sticking.
  5. Remove pan from heat, stir in the extra olive oil and Parmesan cheese.

I am now making this fabulous dish all in one pan. I salute the garlic and chard together for 1 minute, use thin spaghetti and 1 cup of water, cover and cook with occasional stirring for 9-10 minutes. It takes a couple of minutes longer but is less work and cleanup. I will update the recipe soon.
